Another racist case against Tesla

In the US, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) filed a lawsuit against electric car maker Tesla, alleging that “black workers were subjected to racism” at its California factory.

According to the New York Times, the EEOC filed a lawsuit against the company alleging that blacks at Tesla’s California factory were subjected to racist discourse and forced to work harder than white employees.

Claiming that Tesla executives were aware of the mistreatment in question and did not do enough to correct the problem, the EEOC announced that the lawsuit was filed in federal court in Oakland after the companies failed to reach a settlement.

THEY WERE FIRED

According to the commission, black employees were fired after complaining about the inequality in question.

The EEOC alleged that Tesla violated federal law, alleging that the company “subjected black employees at its Fremont factory to racial harassment and created a hostile work environment for its employees because of their race.”

A FINE IS EXPECTED

The commission, which sought compensation from the court for the employees, said it expected various sanctions as a result of the case.

“Disparities and continued inappropriate behavior stemming from racism are evident across all shifts, departments and job positions,” the lawsuit states. A statement has been included.

DRAWINGS OF THE SWASTIC CROSS AND THE KKK IN THE COMPANY

The petition stated that racist drawings such as “swastika” and “Ku Klux Klan (KKK)” were seen in various parts of the workplace.

Attorney Bryan Schwartz, representing the plaintiffs, said in a written statement: “Tesla’s racial harassment of its black employees is illegal and appalling. The problem needs to be addressed systematically.” he said.

HE WAS ASKED TO PAY COMPENSATION

While Tesla has previously faced accusations of racism, the California Department of Civil Rights has also filed a lawsuit against the company, arguing that black workers are “underrepresented” in management positions.

After former Tesla employee Owen Diaz won a “racist harassment” lawsuit he filed against Tesla on April 4, the company was ordered to pay Diaz approximately $3.2 million.
